The owner of The Original Las Palomas began his journey in January 1986, starting as a dishwasher and working his way up to become a busboy, waiter, and eventually a cook.

He recalls his boss being short-staffed and handing him an apron, saying, “You’re a waiter today.” Despite his limited English, he credits his colleagues, his boss, and loyal customers for their support.

He remembers handing over the ticket book to customers to write down their orders because he was unfamiliar with the menu.

One day in 1998, the owner and his wife passed by a run-down shopping center. Although many restaurants had failed there before, they refused to let that discourage them.

In 1999, with the help of a few business partners, they opened The Original Las Palomas Mexican Restaurant.

In 2000, the original partners left, and the owner, along with a new business partner, continued believing the restaurant would succeed.

In 2008, they expanded by opening a second location in Kingwood, Texas.

In 2018, they opened another location, continuing to grow the Las Palomas family.

Finally, in 2024, he became the sole owner of The Original Las Palomas Mexican Restaurant on Woodforest Boulevard.

Although he expanded over the years, his heart always belonged to the original Woodforest location. It is where his dream became reality and the place he proudly calls home.
